HOW WARDEN BOB HATRAK, A TEAM OF SECURITY SUPERVISORS, AND CORRECTION OFFICERS ESTABLISHED CONTROL OF A RIOT-TORN PRISON
A New Jersey film producer is busy working on a documentary film about the Warden Bob Hatrak Era at the Rahway State Prison (1973-1979. Many interviews are in the can including a long interview with Joan and Bob Hatrak. Stay tuned for updates.
During the summer months (July and August) in 1953 and 1954 Bob worked part-time in the Trenton State Prison's business office as a clerk-typist.

Bob's next job was another part-time one again at at the Trenton State Prison. He worked as a mail clerk in the prisons mailroom when he was a student at Rider College (now Rider University) in 1958 and 1959.
His first full-time job in corrections was at the Trenton State Prison. He became the prisons director of education in 1973 and then was promoted to Director of Individual Treatment in 1972.
In October 1973 Bob was appointed Superintendent of the Rahway State Prison.
